“Food is still a blessing for many”
Add Hope™ is an initiative by KFC that aims to eradicate hunger in the country. KFC's Add Hope™ platform will provide funds to ensure the supply of food to India’s underprivileged children. 1 in 4 children in India is malnourished and consequently, facing greater obstacles to reaching their fullest potential. Through add HOPE™ we want the children of our country to be given access to nutritious and balanced meals in order to grow and learn, so they can be their best selves. We are a food company and it’s our privilege and responsibility to address the issue of hunger where millions of children go days without a proper meal. All the money generated through add Hope™ will be used to provide meals to underprivileged children.
More than half of the children in India are malnourished. While malnourishment and hunger are critical issues themselves, they also negatively impact other significant factors in the development of our children and country like literacy, education, healthcare and livelihood. No in-depth analysis is needed to understand that a malnourished kid, prone to all sorts of illnesses, will not perform well at school. Even if they get enrolled in school, most of these kids drop out soon enough owing to perpetual health problems. Malnourishment and hunger thus also lead to extremely low levels of literacy. In case of girl children, it becomes an excuse for parents to take them out of school and push them into household duties and early marriage. Malnourishment and hunger are in effect the social evils in our society today, which are slowly eating away its very being.
KFC has joined hands with Smile Foundation under its Add Hope initiative to combat the grave problem of hunger and malnutrition in India.
We request you to come forward and join hands with us in making India hunger free and help provide full and nutritious meals to children. Because it is not just about filling a child’s stomach with food, it is about filling an innocent heart with hope.
