Top corporate come forward for Bengaluru’s first Charity Football League

Bengaluru :In a rare occasion of chasing the same goal, employees of some of the best globally known brands will take part in Bengaluru’s first Charity Football League being organized by Elegant Properties and Smile Foundation to send 250 underprivileged children to school.

Committed to ensure that the children get an opportunity to realize their dreams despite poverty, employees of leading corporate including Thomson Reuters, CERNER, Euromonitor, Citrix, TUV Rheinland, Target, Herbalife, JMR Infotech, Globe Moving, Informatica, NTT Data, Adobe, Schneider Electric, Rubric PR and Bet on India will descend on the XLR8 Indoor Arena.

Smile Foundation believes that unless all members of the civil society are involved proactively in the process of development, sustainable change will not happen. Believing in this principle of ‘Civic Driven Change’, Smile Foundation sensitises the civil society in order to make them partners in its mission.

Mr. Rajashekar, Partner at Elegant Properties said, “If every man took only what was sufficient for his needs, there would be no rich and no poor. Charity first - helping the under privileged is important and I felt Smile Foundation is the best gateway and when they approached us with a proposal of a football charity cup there was no second thought and we are very happy to partner with Smile Foundation for a noble cause.”

The Elegant Charity Football League aims at catalyzing 300 employees from 32 companies to proactively get involved in the process of development.

“After conducting our first successful Charity Cricket Tournament earlier this year, we realized that bringing individuals together for a sport brings out some of their most favorable characteristics of camaraderie, compassion and empathy. By engaging the civil society in its initiatives, Smile Foundation aims to bring some real and long lasting change in the lives of the most deserving children”, says Mr. Vikram Singh Verma, COO, Smile Foundation.

The event is supported by the Bengaluru Football Club.
