Cluster In charge

Location:Bengaluru, Karnataka

Report to: Senior Manager, Mission Education

The Cluster In charge will lead the on-ground implementation, manage all project activity, and will be the central point of contact for organizational activity related to the project.

Project period: 1st Aug 22 to 31st Mar 2023

Accountabilities

  • Implementation & project management including; on- ground planning & delivery of the project.
  • Completion of the project’s deliverables.
  • Project management in alignment with the project implementation plan, project reporting, and documentation.
  • The role holder will comply with the organization’s policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

Functional

  • Ensure that the project goals are delivered in a timely and effective manner
  • Maintain relationships with a network of key external stakeholders relevant to the execution of the project objectives.
  • Manage and report periodically as per designated reporting process – reviewing project reports, drafting reports, and assimilating information into reports in accordance with organizational and project deliverables.
  • Carry out administrative duties e.g. contract development and vendor management, event management, monitoring and evaluation, and any other tasks as reasonably requested.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of current affairs relating to the education sector.

Management

  • Develop and maintain project management approaches that facilitate open, effective, and timely communication
  • Support the Senior Management and Project lead in ensuring the development and implementation of consistent approaches that contribute to the organization’s strategy

Finance

  • Manage the project activity within budget.
  • Oversee the management of the project’s budget with forecasting in closed coordination and reporting to the Senior Manager and Finance team.
  • Take overall responsibility for the effective and efficient management of resources in accordance with Smile Foundation’s financial procedures and local governance regulations

Organizational responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with external organizations, and teams within Smile Foundation to pursue project objectives and wider organizational goals, including those relating to brand, communications and resource management.
  • Actively participate in building our brand and maintain the integrity of our brand to support our profile, lead generation, income and engagement.
  • Actively participate and support the organisation to ensure that we manage resources (financial, staff and IT) efficiently and effectively by improving the systems, reporting and compliance.
  • The role holder will be responsible for any other task assigned by the senior management within the scope of this role.
  • The post holder will be required to travel to provide support or participate in Smile Foundation’s activities as and when required.

Skills and Experience

  • Experienced and highly motivated individual, with a proven track record of managing projects to deliver specific outcomes.
  • Experience in the design and delivery of impactful projects.
  • Team player with excellent project management and coordination skills and ability to develop and maintain good working relationships across internal departments and teams.
  • Strong communicator, and able to constructively engage with external and internal stakeholders, to develop and deliver project solutions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, including written and spoken English.
  • Experience in creating and managing budgets
  • Works well under the pressure of deadlines

Qualifications

  • BSW/MSW/diploma in environmental science or renewable energy or any other related field

Desirable

  • Knowledge of environmental/renewable energy programs or experience in the field of the education system. (Digital education and science)
  • High level of awareness of global and regional social, economic, political, and environmental/renewal issues relevant to education
  • Knowledge of IT or digital learning
