Rural and underprivileged children of Bangalore get a chance at education
This project strives to improve the condition of children living in and around the villages of Bangalore Rural district. These children are disadvantaged because they do not have access to proper hygiene, education and nutrition. Since the adults do not have proper awareness about education and hygiene, their children also follow suit.
The project is run in Guttaballi village, 40 kilometers east of Bangalore and it aims to provide meaningful education which combines a strong academic curriculum with development of personal values. The project provides formal education to about 300 children right from the pre-school level to the 10th standard.
Nutrition support, cultural activities and exposure visits are also included under the project to ensure 100% retention and holistic development of the enrolled children.
Smile Foundation has partnered with Brahmi Educational and Cultural Trust for this Mission Education project.
