The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited, commonly called ANZ, is the third largest bank by marketcapitalization in Australia, after the Commonwealth Bank and Westpac Banking Corporation. Australian operations make up the largest part of ANZ's business, with commercial and retail banking dominating. ANZ is also the largest bank in New Zealand, where the legal entity became known as ANZ National Bank Limited in 2003 and changed to ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited in 2012. ANZ's operations in India are an integral part of ANZ’s global network comprising Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) India branch and ANZ Operations and Technology and ANZ Support Services India, Bengaluru. ANZ established its Mumbai branch in 2011 and today supports institutional and corporate clients in India and across the other 34 markets in our global network with their banking requirements for local and offshore facilities.
ANZ came on board in year 2012 to support Smile on Wheels Project in Bengaluru. Underprivileged and weaker sections of society suffer from adverse health conditions owing to lack of accessibility, availability and affordability of basic healthcare services in urban slums & remote rural areas. Smile Foundation addressed the issues by bringing quality healthcare services at doorsteps through mobile medical unit; promoting healthcare awareness and healthcare seeking behavior among the underprivileged. ANZ will continue to support this project in 2017-18 and serve 23 identified slums in west Bengaluru through Mobile Medical Unit (MMU). ANZ launched another SOW project in Bengaluru this year and is actively focusing on the health initiative as one of their social responsibility objectives to serve the society.
