Smile Kids make FM listeners Busy

 
BIG FM (92.7) in Mumbai invited Smile Foundation children to its studio on the Republic Day of India. RJ Rishi played game with the kids on air to make it a memorable occasion for them and keep the listeners busy for an hour.

Radio City (91.1), New Delhi and Radio One (94.3), Mumbai played host to Smile children on the occasion of Children’s Day.

 

RJs of Radio One FM Jaggu and Tarana acted as perfect hosts to the excited children who in turn made the FM lovers entertained throughout the show.

Smile children visited a famous resort cum picnic spot of Mumbai called THE CLUB where they spent time with entertainment zone actress Ms. Mansi Ronit Roy.

 

A Fair with a difference

Smile Foundation and Amrapali Utkarsha Sangh organized an Education Fair from 18th to 20th November 2007 at Naveen Desai Residential School, Panchgaon, Nagpur. The sole objective of the fair was to spread awareness regarding education and health among children of migrant labourers working in stone mines in and around Nagpur.

The fair was well attended by both the Indians as well as foreigners. Children of Smile supported local projects along with children from some other schools of Nagpur kept the visitors to the fair enthralled with their captivating performances in the cultural programme.

Health with Smile

Canara Bank, Mumbai has joined hands with Smile Foundation under ‘Health with Smile’ programme which aims to provide diagnostic and referral facilities to poor and needy residing in slums and JJ clusters of Mumbai who cannot afford it otherwise.

Under the initiative, health camps were organized in slum clusters of Mumbai. The first such camp was held in Dharavi area of Mumbai on 18th of November 2007 from 9.30 am to 5 pm. Doctors associated with Smile and volunteers from Smile initiative, ‘Jan Shiksha Sanstha’ along with some senior officers of Canara Bank (Mumbai and Thane branches) were present at the camp. Over 200 people from slums of Dharavi with a high percentage of children and women benefited from the camp which was supported by Canara Bank.
