Children’s Day this year was a momentous day
for children of Neetiman Charitable Trust. The children residing in
the slums of Sultanpuri, Delhi got an opportunity to intermingle with
the privileged section of society and showcase their talent.

Smile children from SHED centre, Mumbai celebrated
Children’s Day with NYK employees at Santa Cruz on November 14,
2009. The children presented a solo and group dance on folk, Bollywood
and western numbers. Many fun-filled activities like painting competition,
diya making were organised. |

Meow Redio
Smile Foundation children in Mumbai were on Meow Radio
as part of Children’s Day celebration at Fun Republic Mal, Andheri
on November 14, 2009. As a continuation of Children’s Day celebrations,
a special episode (talk time) was gifted by Meow Radio to Smile children,
wherein 8 children got the opportunity to be live on air with RJ Mahek
for 30 minutes on Universal Children’s Day.
Singapore
Students
Students and teachers of JJ school, Singapore celebrated
Universal Children’s Day with Smile Foundation children from Ina
Raja Memorial Educational Trust, Hari Nagar, New Delhi on November 20,
2009. Children from both the teams participated enthusiastically.
Cultural programmes including folk dance and folk song performances
enthralled the Singapore students who joined in the dance performances
and learnt a few Indian folk dance steps. Gifts were exchanged among
the students. |
Celebrating
the Day
with DTZ employees

Representatives from DTZ International Property Advisers
celebrated Children’s Day with Nava Karnataka Social Service (NKSS)
centre, a Mission Education centre of Smile Foundation in Bengaluru.
More than 350 children participated in group dance, face painting and
drawing competition. A fancy dress competition was organised on the
occasion wherein the children dressed up as a doctor, nurse, teacher,
Indira Gandhi, Michael Jackson and their favourite Chacha Nehru. In
the face painting competition many children drew a modern art on each
other’s face. It was a spider’s house on a face which won
the first prize. The winners of each competition won exclusive gift
hampers. . |
