SAFETY & AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Smile Foundation held the launch function of it’s safety & Awareness Campaign titled Swabhiman on 8th August . The function was presided by Prof. Kiran Walia Chairperson, Delhi Commission for Women MLA, Hauz Khas. The other distinguished guest were Ms. Seema Mustafa , Chief of Bureau, Asian Age , Mrs. Sangita Dhingra Sehgal, Member Secretary, Delhi Legal Cell, Ms. Vimla Mehra Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime against Women Cell , Dr. Bhavna Barmi, Chief Psychologist, Escorts Hospital. In all over 280 participants from 48 NGO’s, schools & colleges participated in the program. The Function was held at Lakshmipat Singhania Auditorium at PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The program was kicked off by a short series of short films on- body image, male attitudes & domestic violence .

The unanimous voice of all dignitaries was that that to deal with violence & abuse there is a need to fight against mindsets and attitude of both males and females. Violence against women needs to be discussed & deliberated at every level.
