Smile Foundation has been organizing a Kite Festival with children from underprivileged communities under its ‘You Can Make A Difference’ programme. The programme includes a kite flying festival as well as a workshop on ‘The History of Kite Flying & Kite Making’. The event is being organized at Dilli Haat, New Delhi between August 11 and August 14, 2006.

Ms. Shibani Kashyap, Indi-pop singer, joins the children as the chief guest on the occasion.

The Kite Festival is an endeavor to sensitize children about their values and culture so as to make them realize different ways in which they can contribute and make a difference in the society.

Around 75 poor children will join kite flying in Dilli Haat campus. They will also join the workshop on ‘The History of Kite Flying & Kite Making’.

Visitors will also be distributed kites and will be invited to join the children in kite flying.
