Smile Foundation organized a health
camp for Smile children of ‘Schools of the World’
project at Anwarshah Road, Kolkata on 9th of August
2008.
Canara Bank, joining hands with Smile
Foundation, has been in the forefront in the service
of humanity especially the poor and underprivileged.
The bank has been supporting Smile Foundation children
through a series of planned health camps across India.
The non-pathological camp was sponsored
by Canara Bank Kolkata. General Manager, Canara Bank,
Mr. A K Nayyar participated in the camp. He said, “It
is a pleasure for Canara Bank to be a CSR partner of
Smile Foundation. Canara Bank has always been on the
forefront among the banks in the country to be involved
in the social work from its inception in the area of
education.”
A team from Standard Chartered Bank,
headed by Mr. Dinesh Munshi, joined the camps as special
guests. They were impressed by the professionally executed
healthcare being provided to needy children at regular
interval.
The last camp for the children of this
project was done in January 2008 which was also sponsored
by Canara Bank.
Medical representatives from four different
pharmaceutical companies had joined hands in providing
medicines and distributing them properly to all children,
supervised by Dr. Gupta.

Children were given medicines like
Iron syrup, Paracetamol tablets, Crocin syrup, Ear drop,
De-worming liquid, Anti-vomiting tablets etc. Besides,
Standard Chartered Bank had gifted them with chocolates
and with biscuits by the school itself.
Smile Foundation has issued ‘health
cards’ for the children that they can renew with
successive health camps. |
