How
SupportSoft Team Brought Smile to Children

Bangalore

Centre of Attraction:
25 Smile Children
Starry
eyes, lofty dreams, creative minds, fun and frolic and lot of
dancing - are a few things that sum up the day with children
of Smile Foundation-Bosco project in Bangalore. You had to be
there to believe that innocence nurtured can turn into dreams
realised, and I’m sure the few of us who turned up to
whole heartedly support the event will vouch for that. Those
who heard children barely into their teens, or even less, say
that they would like to grow up to become an IPS officer, a
cricketer, a hockey player or even a computer engineer would
have realised that even a small but earnest attempt to support
and encourage the less privileged is an attempt that will pay
rich dividends for the society.
As
some of you might have noticed from the painted diyas on display
in the cafeteria, there was no dearth of talent or enthusiasm
on part the 25-odd children from the school. Thanks to Meera
and Sabir for doing the tough job of having to pick 3 winners
from among the kids. Sabir handed out the prizes to the winners,
as a small token of our appreciation for his generous gesture
of sponsoring gifts for all the children. Some of the diyas
were “bought” by our colleagues for as high as Rs.1000
as their contribution to Smile Foundation.
Thanks
to Suresh, Asit, Shailesh and Shekhar for this unique gesture.
All the other diyas are still up for “sale” for
ANY amount that you would like to contribute. We also have applications
for those interested in enrolling for payroll giving. Jaleel
is the first person to have the initiative in the regard, and
I’m sure there are many more to follow. Please get in
touch with me for all your contributions.
There
was some serious ‘Saturday Morning Fever’ as we
set the floor on fire with all our dancing skills, trying to
match the vigor and gusto of the children. Much like our state
government, we had our own round of musical chairs, although
the sole objective was to have fun J Thanks to the GS team for
blowing up all the balloons – they came in very handy!
On the whole, it was a day of great fun, although we would have
loved more participation.
Thanks
to Nihar, Pranav, Prashanth, Kavitha, Hemanth, Sumeet Chawla,
Sudhakar, Ravi Kumar and Raghavendra for being there and showing
the SPRT spirit!
Thanks
also to the winning team of aisle decoration for their handsome
contribution.
