The Founders
Prayog International Foundation for Social Action and
Research was established by a team of responsible citizens, educationists
and professionals namely Mr. Haribansh Singh, Mr. Anurag Chaturvedi, Dr.
Arun Chaturvedi, Dr. Dilip Patel, Dr. G G Wankhede, Dr. Gaurav Chaturvedi
and Mr. Sanjay Badiani.

About the organisation
Prayog International Foundation is a registered
non-profitable organisation working in semi-urban and rural areas of India.
It is committed towards the upliftment of rural poor since August 2001.
They work for the welfare of poor irrespective of their class, community,
creed, race, religion or language by conducting various programmes for
youth, children and women. The Foundation helps beneficiaries’ access
central and state government schemes and network with private organisations.
They have also established educational institutions to implement adult
education programmes and Aanganwadi centres for improving the literacy
rate of the community. Prayog International Foundation works towards sensitising
and empowering women and youth.
Prayog Foundation is presently working in villages namely
Mulekhand (Koliwada, Kumbharwada, Agriwada & Telipada), Chanje &
Karanja in Uran Tehsil of Raigad District. Besides imparting remedial
education, the Foundation empowers women by providing them vocational
training in tailoring, art and crafts etc. They also empower youth by
upgrading their technical and soft skills through Computer Basics &
e-Learning courses, personality development etc.
Smile Foundation partners with Prayog
Prayog joined hands with Smile Foundation in February
2009 to empower youth in job oriented courses. Under Smile Twin e-Learning
Programme, students learn computer applications, English speaking, retail
management and personality development that helps them get an employment
Case studies
Rekha
Jayram Gaikwad (22) wanted to pursue higher studies but could not manage
beyond Senior Secondary (SSC) due to economic constraints. Her life changed
when she joined Smile’s Prayog centre for the Smile Twin e-Learning
Programme. Today she is working with ‘Bombay Teen Challenge’
as a Teacher cum caretaker.
Akshay
Rajendra Berde (19) got himself enrolled for the Smile Twin e-learning
programme at Prayog Foundation in the February 2009 batch. The course
has inculcated great confidence in him by improving his communication
skills in English and helped him seek a job in Aditya Birla Minacs.
Vidya
Harish Chandorkar (22) worked as an assistant nurse. She was not able
to communicate in English and lacked confidence in taking charge of assignments
on her own. After completing the Smile Twin e-Learning Programme she gained
confidence and got placed as a nurse cum office in-charge with Bombay
Teen Challenge. |
