Padharo Mahari Lado
'Padharo Mahari Lado’ (‘Welcome,
My Dear Daughter’), the year-long campaign is launched in
Barmer, Rajasthan by Smile Foundation, National Rural Health Mission,
Department of Health Govt. Rajasthan, Help Age India and Cairn India
. The campaign aims to celebrate the birth of girl child in the
district where in when a girl child is born in the district; the
community will celebrate the same.
Zilla Parishad Chairperson Mrs. Madan Kaur,
Ms. Shama Bano (Pradhan - Chouhtan), Chief Medical & Health
Officer Dr. Hemraj Soni, senior official from Cairn India and Smile
Foundation welfare teams were present during the launch event in
Barmer town.
On the occasion special gifts for girl children
such as safety kits including soaps, quilts, mosquito nets etc.
were presented.
Navratri is being celebrated in India which
also marks worshipping Goddess Durga. The occasion has been chosen
for this intensive year-long campaign in an endeavour to reinstate
the dignity of being a Girl Child in our society, which should stay
forever.
