Universal education with special emphasis on healthcare services
Smile Foundation has joined hands with Om Foundation, Noida for its Mission Education project. Besides providing quality education, special emphasis is laid on the provision of better healthcare services and balanced nutrition for the children living in Morna and Hoshiarpur area of Noida. Special preference is given to orphans, single-parent children and girl child during the admission process.
 
About the project

Om Memorial School provides free quality education and healthcare services to the impoverished children living in Noida. Computer education is an integral component of the curriculum followed at the school. Library facility is available to all the children, which is sponsored by Room to Read, India Trust. The mode of instruction at the centre is English, though Hindi is also used for both formal and informal talks. Regular immunization and health check-up camps including general pediatric and specific health check-up camps like Eye, ENT, and Dental care etc are organised for the children. The health and growth of the children is monitored throughout the year and students are instructed about the basic hygiene and grooming practices too.
All children at the Om Memorial School are provided a balanced mid-day meal along with milk, snacks, medicines and even spectacles in case they have an eye problem. Besides teaching them basic etiquette and social skills, cultural activities like music & dance, art & craft, fitness & yoga, educational tours & picnics, sports & recreational activities are a routine at the Om Foundation School. The Foundation has full-time academic as well as non-academic staff.
Target group
Children in the age group of 3 to 7 years studying in Nursery, Class I & Class II.
 
About the partner
Om Foundation is a Public Charitable Trust based in Hosiarpur Village, Noida. It has been working since the last five years for the urban poor deprived of basic education, healthcare, hygiene and balanced nutrition. The School, which had started in the year 2002 with 15 children, now has 98 students on its rolls. The Foundation emphasises on the all round development of children by providing them quality education, healthcare and balanced nutrition. Empowering girls by supporting them in pursuing their educational goals and thus helping them turn into dignified, confident individuals, helping the youth get a secured job are the other aspects the Foundation highlights on.
