About the partner

Mitwa Mahila Kalyan Evam Seva Samiti (MMKS) is a growing social organization that works for the development of deprived and tribal women.

About the Projects

The project area is surrounded by scheduled caste people who earn their livelihood by engaging themselves in labour work and such other low income activities. The total population of the area is approximately 1200, in terms of education of the people, it is absolutely lagging and in need of special care and support.

The main objective of this project is thus to promote education for underprivileged children between 6-14 years of age living in difficult circumstances. The project enrolls identified children, forms mother committees and motivates them to support education for their ward, and tries to better their behavioral pattern. It tries to equip children with information and knowledge for developing their intellectual talent and exposure of their skills; make them aware of health and hygiene practices; and mainstream them in formal schools for further education.
