Foundation has extended its helping hand to Jyotirmaya
Seva Samiti in the form of supporting Jyotirmaya Dumb
and Deaf School at Barwaha in the central Indian state
of Madhya Pradesh. The beneficiaries who are deaf and
dumb as well as illiterate are provided with basic education
through special technique and proper amenities.
The Project and The Partner
Jyotirmaya Seva Samiti has been running
Joytirmaya Dumb and deaf School since 1998. There are
around 45 students in the school. The well-qualified
teachers impart education through hearing-aid machine
and speech trainer computer to improve voice modulation.
Four students have successfully passed their fifth standard
in the last session and other students have also done
fairly well in their exams.
Besides academics, the students are
taught handicraft, drawing, dancing and computer literacy.
Educational toys and computer software are installed
so that students can learn more effectively. During
the year programmes like literary and cultural events,
annual sports day, Independence Day, Republic Day, Hindi
Diwas are organized in the school and students actively
participate in the event.

# Patient talks back system, push pull vocal trainer,
bone conductors are provided to students.
Smile foundation and Jyotirmaya Seva Samiti are hopeful
of paving new path for these needy yet special children
so that they would set an example in the society. |
