have brought remarkable changes in the lives of the
beneficiaries. Through this project there are 60 school
going street children who are able to get in to the
mainstream of the society.
With the constant support
and motivation we are able to convince them to pursue
good education which will lead them to social integration
in the dignified manner.”

Education can redefine lives. These three runaway
and street children could have fallen prey to the
vicious cycle of abuse, child labour or beggary. But
a humble effort from this initiative is reshaping
their DESTINY!

the street children of Bangalore Metro by providing them formal
education
About the Partner
Bosco is a charitable voluntary organization,
established in 1986 to involve with the “young at risk”,
particularly in Bangalore metropolitan area. The organization
is primarily working for the betterment of the street &
working children in the city of Bangalore, since last 25 years.
The organization has received support from
various national & international funding organization
like Child line foundation , Terre des Hommes , Germany ,
BREADS, to name a few.

About the Project
Bosco’s project Availing Formal Education
to Street Children of Bangalore Metro Programme take care
of 60 street children in Bosco Vikas, a shelter home. These
street children are mainstreamed in formal schools & they
stay at this centre. All necessary facilities, like uniforms,
books, extra curricular activities, meals, coaching classes
are given to the poor children. The project provides basic
necessities& educational needs to street children (boys)
for a period of one year.
After the completion of education, the beneficiaries are
enrolled in appropriate government educational institution;
this includes cost for uniforms, textbooks, and note books
& other learning materials, school fees etc.
Special Tuition classes & coaching are conducted for
the beneficiaries. Tuitions are also provided in the following
subjects, maths, science, economics, social education &
Commerce. Medical Care is given to the street children. Extra–curricular
activities are also held for the upbringing of the street
children.
Special Focus
- Children are given proper medical care.
- Proper attention is given towards the talents of each
child.
Smile foundation and Bosco has taken a pledge to fulfill
the dreams of the street children.
