Paediatric & Surgery Camp
Committed to providing health facilities in backward areas through camps, a Paediatric & Surgery Camp was held from 24th September-2nd October 2002 at Aaseend, Bhilwara.
A total of 2054 patients were treated and over 287 operations were conducted. This mammoth exercise was made possible by a team of 20 doctors of different specialties and over 60 support staff of nurses, compounders, orderlies etc.
Facilities like a blood bank, sonography, medicines, X-rays and pathology services were available on site and arrangements were made for 300 beds. With food facilities for patients and an accompanying attendant. Emphasis on operative care was also given.
For this camp special arrangements were made and coordinated by a consortium of organizations whose volunteers took up different tasks like crowd control, water and food management etc. These were Jain Samaj, Sindhi Samaj, Sharma Samaj, Mahavir International, Baywar Bus association etc.
Similar camps shall be arranged on need basis in Rajasthan and other states in the future. |
