ORYSED celebrates Republic Day

In an effort to involve the community in its initiatives, ORYSED running a project on remedial education under Mission Education programme at Bir Maharajpur in Subarnapur district of Orissa invited more than 1000 students from local schools and colleges to celebrate the Republic Day. The project is a step in the right direction to provide quality education leading the underprivileged children of the village to the path of empowerment.

'Made in Jupiter Academy’

Jupiter Academy Society, one of our Mission Education partners participated in the 4 day long Midnight Mela organised by the IEM Group of Institutions at Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. The exhibition of the products made by the children from Jupiter attracted huge sales. The vocational training provided at Jupiter Academy, specifically for the girl child, is an effort to ensure their empowerment.

Hriday: Play on education

Children of Hriday, Jalpaiguri, West Bengal used theatre as a medium to sensitise the community members on issues related to self defense and importance of education. The ‘Back to School Programme’ at Hriday caters to the educational and health needs of slum and street children.

 

JSS communicates through dance

Students of Jan Sewak Sangh (JSS) from Bolangir, Orissa presented a dance competition under the Action For Children programme. Arun kumar Mishra, District President of Samajwadi Party gave away prizes to the winning participants. Jan Sewak Sangh provides remedial education to needy children to improve their performance in studies.

Sevadham Trust advocates on child rights

Pune based Sevadham Trust sensitised the privileged masses on the issues of education and child rights by presenting a song and dance show during it's 4th annual gathering, The trust runs non formal education (NFE) centres, provides remedial education and vocational training to underprivileged section of the population in the city.

Organisational restructuring at Smile Foundation

In order to channelise the ongoing efforts in a more cohesive manner, bring in new inputs required to facilitate the existing operations and also add new ones, Smile Foundation has appointed few personnel across various departments. H.N. Sahay has joined as Director Operations, Pabitra Banerjee as General Manager – Programmes and Anurag Bhatnagar as General Manager – Resources.

Santanu Mishra, Executive Trustee, said, “We have appointed new people at key positions to bring in more professionalism in the working systems. We believe in their capabilities and are sure that the deliverables from them will be stronger, effective and timely. Another area of strategic interest is aligned with spreading our presence beyond India”.
