FIVE
YEARS YOUNG
Smile's journey has just begun
|
 |
In
its endeavour to touch the lives of disadvantaged children
across the nation - in an organized and systematic manner
- Smile has tactically applied the same working model that
has helped corporates reach their business and strategic goals.
This is particularly noteworthy because Smile remains a non-profit
organization, driven solely by the desire to serve the underprivileged
and the needy.
The
focus has been on the three key aspects of scalability, sustainability
and accountability. Smile has commendably incorporated these
in its pursuit of Social Venture Philanthropy, a discipline
it has reinvented to help society through linkages of investment
to developmental contribution.
While
so doing, Smile has had the opportunity to associate with
individuals and organizations that are striving to make a
difference in their own special ways. These 'social entrepreneurs'
comprise people
|
|
of diverse backgrounds - a retired defence officer committed
to teaching slum children; NGOs helping save and rebuild lives
in the event of catastrophes; a volunteer group that collects
and make available safe blood for emergencies; a retired Air
Force officer who runs a multi-speciality hospital while promoting
health insurance schemes for widows.
|
| In
the course of the last five years, Smile has reached the following
milestones: |
| |
Today,
Smile is already reaching out to over 1,00,000 children
and youth. |
