Smile Foundation is supporting this project since 2009
Number of beneficiaries: 100

Smile Foundation is extending its support to Nava Karnataka Social Service Trust to provide quality education to underprivileged children dwelling in the urban slums of Bangalore city. The beneficiaries are mostly people from slum communities who because of ignorance are unable to live a self- sustainable life. Smile Foundation in partnership with Nava Karnataka has endeavoured to empower them by providing them education and supporting the holistic development of the needy children.

The Project
Smile Foundation will support 100 beneficiaries directly under the noble initiative ‘Gnaneshwari Vidhya Mandhir School’, a formal educational setup. The school boasts of a sound infrastructure with more than 500 underprivileged children studying free of cost from LKG to Class X. The project aims at encouraging people to educate their children and give them an opportunity to explore their hidden talents. Children are provided counseling sessions to improve their career aspects. They are also encouraged and supported to pursue higher studies.

The project aims at creating awareness within the community people, inspiring families towards education, generating health and hygiene awareness, empowering women groups and thus raising the standard of living of the community people.

With a special focus on education, the support from Smile Foundation will accelerate overall development of children in different aspects of their personality.
