Big 92.7 FM celebrates Christmas with Smile Foundation in Ranchi

Smile Foundation in collaboration with 92.7 Big FM celebrated Christmas in Ranchi. The event took place in the Jaipal Singh Stadium and Smt. Mahua Majhi, the celebrated Hindi novelist from Jharkhand, was the chief guest of the programme.

Smt. Mahua Majhi is a noted Hindi novelist from Jharkhand who has been honored the International Literary Award by the House of Lords, London. At the national level she has been honored for her contribution in her respected field by Madya Pradesh Sahitya Academy and Ujjain Kalidas Academy. A piece of fiction by Mahua Majhi on her memoirs of East Pakistan (now, Bangladesh) has been selected by Rome's Sapienza University, the largest such institute in Europe, for undergraduate syllabus. The English translation of her book, ‘Main Borishailla', has been incorporated by the university in its oriental studies course.

For the event, many youth beneficiaries of Smile were taken to the stadium for a fun time and the Big FM team, the young boys and girls and Smt. Majhi together released a ‘Be the Change’ message with 500 balloons in the air. ‘Be the Change’ is Smile Foundation’s initiative of spreading the message, of participating in bringing the desired change, among the masses. It also aims to promote the culture of 'Giving and sharing' among the privileged mass, inspiring them to 'ACT' and make a difference in the lives of the underprivileged children.

It is a privilege for Smile Foundation and all its beneficiaries to be a part of this festivity. It was a very nice gesture on part of the 92.7 Big FM to come forward and celebrate with the beneficiaries of Smile Foundation. They have helped Smile in spreading the message of Right to Education for the underprivileged children and also made an honest appeal to the society to participate in social change.

Speaking on the occasion, Omar Shadab Hashmi, Programming Head, 92.7 Big FM Ranchi said, “This is a great experience for all of us to be amongst these young guys. As an FM channel we are doing our bit by disseminating this message to the masses to bring about the change in the society and we make a humble appeal to the public to participate at their end and help us reach out to more public in this noble cause.
