Health camp at Punjab focuses on eye and dental care
Smile Foundation organised a health camp on eye
and dental care at Fagwara in Punjab on May 19, 2010 in association
with Dr. S Rajan (MBBS, MS), the eye specialist and the Dental specialists
- Dr. Harjinder Singh (BDS) and Dr. Sukhbir Kaur from the city.
The camp stationed at the Saffron Public School
in the city was instrumental in inspecting the eyes and teeth of
around eleven hundred (1100) students of the school and the staff
members. Doctors and other medical experts present at the camp provided
useful tips to the children on oral hygiene and eye care.
The students of the school were also shown some
short films on the dreams and aspirations of the children from the
underprivileged section of the society in India. The students from
various age groups in the school got sensitised on the plight of
the less privileged children and were eager to know more about the
children from the underprivileged section.
Apart from the team of the health camp, executives
from Smile Foundation, the staff members of the school also actively
participated in conducting the health camp smoothly. The Principal
of the Saffron Public School Ms Sandeepa Sood attended the camp
as chief guest. Various Hindi and Punjabi newspapers and local electronic
media covered the event and reports were published on the subsequent
day. |
