Employee Engagement Programme with Barclays

An ‘Employee Engagement Programme’ was organised for students of Smile Foundation’s Smile Twin e-Learning Programme (STeP) centre, Vasant Kunj on July 18, 2009. Employees fromBarclays Bank gave useful tips to the students.

The programme was divided into five sessions and the focus was on tips on ‘How to face an Interview’. The Barclays representatives, who are experts in banking and human resource, gave a presentation on the topic and shared their real life experiences with the adolescents.

The trainees came up with queries on how to do away with their nervousness during an interview, and answering tricky questions when they are interviewed for sales and marketing positions.

A role play session was organised, wherein the students learnt about the posture they should have while facing an interview and the necessity to have eye contact with the interviewees while answering them.

The programme was of great help in instilling self-confidence in the students. Braclays Bank in association with Smile Foundation plans to organise more such programmes with the youngsters.

Through the Smile Twin e-Learning Programme (STeP), under-privileged youth are an imparted skill, which helps them get a job. The event was organised keeping the requirements of the students in mind.
