Felicitation ceremony at STeP centres

A ceremony to felicitate students who have successfully completed the Smile Twin e-Learning Programme (STeP) course was organised at Smile Foundation’s STeP centre Iniya Udaiyam Charitable Trust, Chennai on July 12, 2009.

Mr. Nandakumar, Deputy Commissioner, Income Tax, Chennai and Mr. Sathyamoorthy, programme officer, Smile Foundation gave away the certificates to 52 students.

Film director of repute Mr. Maharishi, actor Mr. Bawan, film maker Sandeep and members of Nallore Vattam were present on the occasion. The guests distributed uniforms, notebooks, bags, stationery to the students. 

Smile Foundation in collaboration with Prayog and Asset India organised a felicitation ceremony for the students who have successfully completed the six month Smile Twin e-Learning Programme (STeP) course. The Asset STeP centre caters to the youth from underprivileged and sex worker’s families. The aim is to mainstream to enable them to earn their livelihood with respect and dignity.

Mr. G. G. Wankhede, HOD , Department of Sociology of Education, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Corporator Mr. Amin Patel and renowned choreographer Mr. Santosh Bhangle were the distinguished guests on the occasion.
