The Founders

UNIQUE is an NGO (registered under Societies Registration act, 1860) established and led by young energetic, educated professionals from fields like Information Tec0hnology, Engineering and Management etc.

About the organisation

Unique was started in February 2007 at Manesar district of Gurgaon, Haryana to provide the technical education & communication skills to the underprivileged youth. The institution provides special education supported by trained teachers. They envision a better society and a better tomorrow. The students here learn various fundamentals of computer and other vocational courses like Ms-office (word excel, power point), Internet, Busy win (accounting), tally, DTP (desk top publishing) Language technique (C and C++), Spoken English, Retail Management, Basic management.

Stories of Hope

Balkar Sibgh, son of a farmer, wanted to pursue his higher studies but due to money constraints, he could not do it. Balkar came to know about the STeP course and he joined it as Smile foundation has kept a very nominal course fee. Even before finishing his course he got the job in IDBI BANK as a Computer Operator and he continues with his Twin e-learning programme.

Lalchand Saini belongs to Ferozpur Zirka to a very poor family. He lacked the confidence to communicate in English, but with Smile foundation’s Twin e-learning programme, he improved upon his communication and other skills. Now he got placed in M/S Subros Ltd as an operator and still continues with his STeP course.

Sachin Sharma lives in Manesar, Haryana and belongs to a Brahmin family. His father is a shopkeeper and is in big debt , and his family’s economic condition was not. He was also not good in studies and passed his 10th in three mercy chances , he is the eldest son in the family ,so he also could not completed his 10+2,or graduation , he lost his all hopes ,one day he came with his father’s and we advised him to join STeP course .He worked hard and during his STeP course he become more confident and want to earn for the betterment of his career and his family .After completion of his course we placed him in M/s AIRTEL LTD in IMT MANESAR as a data entry operator . Now he is very cheerful and also help the junior students in the institute in computer classes.
