The philosophy of the society has always been to work
for the weaker sections of the society and pour in maximum efforts for
their upliftment. The approach of the organisation has always been people-centric.
SCS also works for the senior citizens of the society
through its recreation centre for senior citizens. The recreation centre
is being run in association with Department of Social Welfare, Govt. of
NCT of Delhi. The elderly in the area visit the recreation centre regularly
between 10 a.m to 4 p.m and spend quality time at the centre. They play
indoor games and read newspapers, watch TV and engage in healthy discussions.
The elderly have quality time in a homely atmosphere.

and they cannot afford a qualified doctor. So SCS has setup dispensaries
for the underprivileged. About 80 patients visit the centre everyday and
they are charged a nominal fee of Rs. 10. But handicapped and senior citizens
are provided treatment free of cost.

Stories of Hope
Amit, Sarika and Deepa were very needy adolescents
and had completed their twelfth Grade from the Government Senior Secondary
school of the nearby area. Deepa was a graduate in Arts stream and had
a very poor family background. Both the students joined the SteP with
hopes that they would earn a decent living after the course is complete.
That happened too and Amit and Sarika were placed at Cotton County and
Deepa was placed at CIPLA and at present is working with Zunison Pharma
Ltd. This came as a fresh breather for their families and they are earning
good money now and supporting their families. |
