Summer vacation at Smile Foundation’s Action for Autism centre, New Delhi was full of fun and frolic.

Rasta

Several summer activities were lined up for children of Smile Foundation’s Rasta centre, Ghaziabad. Several workshops on music, art and craft making were organised as part of the workshop. |

I Day celebrations

Smile Foundation children celebrated Independence Day with great fervour. Besides a wide array of cultural programmes organised at many centres, several competitions were lined up for the tiny tots.
While at the NeeV centre, the children staged a ballet which was followed by a raffle draw organised by residents of Cedar Crest, children at Nai Disha centre, Vasant Kunj enthralled all with the song Sare Jahaan Se Achha and a Raas Leela performance, which attracted the locals in large numbers. Likewise, students of Parijat Academy, Guwahati also organised a cultural programme (folk songs and dance) to celebrate Independence Day.

Child Labour Day

Children of Smile Foundation’s Hamara School project in Goa observed World Day Against Child Labour on June 12. It was celebrated in association with Fevicryl Hobby Ideas.
Various issues related to child labour like rights of children, why education is important for children, where to approach during troubled times etc were discussed.

Utsav time at Sparsh
Balakotsav 09’, the annual day celebrations at Smile Foundation’s Sparsh Charitable Trust, Mumbai was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm on May 23. The sterling performance and wonderful display of talent by young marginalised children moved a gathering of about 500 odd audiences.
On the occasion, children also displayed a variety of handicrafts and arteficts made by them. |

Talent show
More than 100 elite Mumbaiites gathered for a talent show at Smile Foundation’s Social Development Center (SDC), Malad, Mumbai. The audience was dazed to see the flair of those children who till a few years back were seen loitering on the streets of Mumbai or engaged in petty jobs. |
