The San Francisco State University is making a short film on Smile Foundation. A 25 member team comprising students and professors from San Francisco State University came to India for the shoot. The crew lead by Prof. Dr. Vinay Shrivastava and Prof Dr. Betsy J. Blosser of the Deptartment of Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts, College of Creative Arts, San Francisco State University was in India from June 14 to July 9 and visited many Smile project centres for the shoot. The university bore all the cost as well as expertise required for the film which will be ready by September end. |
Main Kalam Hoon

Smile Foundation is working on a parallel cinema Main Kalam Hoon. The movie is about a nine year old boy who aspires to overcome all hurdles to chase his dreams. The film propagates a dream that every child shall go to school and 'One day the world shall take notice.'
Main Kalam Hoon is being presented by Smile Foundation and produced by Eleeanora Images Pvt. Ltd. in association with Flair Communications.
The strong narrative, scripted by Mr. Sanjay Chauhan speaks about how every child deserves to live his/her childhood, no matter where he/she is born. The film has a fantastic ensemble of artists like Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover, child actor Hussan and Pitabash, French actress Beatrice, and is being directed by Mr. Nila Madhab Panda, an award wining emerging film maker |

Campaign with NDTV

Smile Foundation and NDTV are working together on a campaign Chhoone Do Aasmaan to sensitise the privileged mass to help underprivileged children achieve their aspirations. The two-month long campaign is being aired from August 31 to October 31, 2009. A total of 25 stories are being telecast and every show is based on one underprivileged child living in an urban slum of India. The children are from various locations across India. The campaign will end with a 1 hour long show anchored by Mr Pankaj Pachauri, who has been awarded the Best News Anchor by NT AWARDS, Indian Television. Policy makers, bureaucrats, educationists and representatives from Smile Foundation will be a part of the panel. |
