Volunteerism

Empowering individuals, particularly children - enabling them to make informed choice, resist oppression, fight for rightful existence and facilitating new possibilities and opportunities for them - is what Smile Foundation strives for. Smile Foundation has initiated Individual Support Programme, and as a name suggests, we take up individual cases based on the need and genuineness.

The categories for support are as under:

1. Education Excellence: Smile intends to support education of children, in individual capacity, who are at risk of discontinuing their studies due to impoverished circumstances and have exhibited outstanding academic track record.

2. Health support for critical cases: Under this category individuals (child/family) suffering from any critical disease are provided support for their health under special circumstances.

3. Individual Rehabilitation Programme: Specific cases pertaining to rape and molestation victims, child abuse, child marriage, commitment to a social cause etc are taken up for support/rehabilitation. The support would be in terms of facilitating education, vocational training, entrepreneurship training, arranging for loans, long & short term stay, counseling, provision for aids and appliances etc. as per case requirements.

4. Role Models: Support for education as well as health is provided to recognize the children who have performed outstanding deeds of bravery and selfless sacrifice including bravery awards winners. Such support would be given to children who are from impoverished background, so that they can meet basic ambitions of their life and realize their potential.
